POWLETT GROUP WALKING TOURS

First Thursday of the month from 10am to 12pm

Beginning at Powlett Reserve Community Centre and travelling a different route each time, this intergenerational tour gently explores the beauty of the East Melbourne neighbourhood. It is an opportunity for local younger children from the East Melbourne Child Care Centre and local residents to come together to walk and talk, share stories, enjoy lush surrounds while also promoting healthy living.

Walks will be led by the East Melbourne Child-Care Centre (EMCC) and East Melbourne Neighbour network (EMNN) and is also supported by East Melbourne Group (EMG), Powlett Reserve Tennis Centre and the City of Melbourne.

7 September: Powlett Reserve to East Melbourne Library return

5 October: Powlett Reserve to Fitzroy gardens visitor centre return

2 November: Powlett Reserve around the reserve, with pit-stop activity at the Tennis Centre

Break December and January, resuming 1 February. Maximum adult participants is 15 per session. Please register with the East Melbourne Neighbour Network at emnn3002@gmail.com.

All walking tour group leaders hold a Working with Children’s Check. Participants should wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes and bring sunscreen, a water bottle and hat.
