Yarra Park Children’s Centre and Kindergarten provides a care and education program for children from 0-5 years old. We are located at 27 Berry Street, East Melbourne and cater for 61 children. We are open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Our centre is a warm and welcoming environment where children can learn and grow. We have a dedicated team of educators who are passionate about early childhood education. We believe that every child is unique and we tailor our programs to meet the individual needs of each child.

Our programs are designed to promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. We offer a variety of activities and experiences that encourage children to explore, learn, and have fun.

We also believe that it is important for families to be involved in their children’s education. We encourage parents to visit our centre regularly and to participate in our programs.

Meet the Centre Manager

My name is Bec, and I am the Centre Manager at Yarra Park.

In 2011, I moved back home to Melbourne, after living in America for a year, working at Walt Disney World. That’s when I stated my career in early childhood education at the East Melbourne childcare co-operative, working at Powlett Reserve as a trainee. Since then, I have worked with all age groups while studying my Diploma in early childhood education which I completed in 2014. I had been at Powlett Reserve for 8 years before I had transferred to Yarra Park in 2019 to take on the role as centre manager.

I love being a part of the EMCC community and enjoy building relationships with all children and families. I believe in providing a fun, happy and loving environment where every single child feels comfortable and supported.

I enjoy spending my downtime with my husband (Nick), my nephew (Lachlan) and my mum (Debbie), and love being around friends a family. I also love listening to music whenever I get the chance.

The Education team is diverse and we pride ourselves on a low turnover of Educators.

We have been coming to Berry Street EMCC for about 7 months and my toddler absolutely loves it.
The educators are fantastic and very caring; they seem to really love what they do.
The facilities are great and the programs/events they run for the children and families are fantastic.

The staff are compassionate, competent, patient and incredibly skilled in early childhood development and many have been there for years. They focus on supporting children’s learning, individuality and offer a variety of sensory experiences. Their communication with us as parents is excellent and we look forward to the weekly reflections.
They have been super accommodating about following our sleep routine and were so containing during the upheaval of COVID period.

EMCC is such a great childcare centre. We have our child there from the babies room to toddler and all the educators are so great. I love that it’s a smaller centre so we basically know everyone who works there. We have had a great experience and feel so safe having our child there. Everyone there focuses firstly on the wellbeing of the child and their development. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend the Berry Street childcare co-op enough. Our little man attend from baby room to toddlers through to 2 years of kinder. Along the way the fun & education he received (inclusive of safety of self, native Australians and planet care etc) was amazing. He made so many friends with both other children as well as so many fantastic relationships with staff/teachers! We are so sad to leave after 4 wonderful years there.
